The Rossendale Triathlon
A tough, but friendly, sprint triathlon in the Valley.
A Classic Sprint Distance Race
Whether you are a seasoned triathlete hunting for a PB or a first-timer looking to cross your first finish line, the Rossendale Triathlon is a race like no other.
Known for our incredibly supportive marshals and our stunning (but challenging) course, we pride ourselves on delivering a professional race experience with a local club feel.
- Date: Sunday 10th May 2026
- Location: Marl Pits Leisure Centre
- DIstances: 400m Swim | 21km Bike | 5km Run

The Course
Don’t let the distance fool you—the Rossendale hills are legendary.
- The Swim: A 400m pool swim in Marl Pits pool. Swimmers are seeded by estimated swim time.
- The Bike: A 21km loop taking in the scenic roads of the valley. It’s undulating (read: hilly!).
- The Run: A final 5km blast on a mix of pavement and trail.
Race Day Essentials
We want your race day to be stress-free so you can focus on your performance.
- Start Times: Released 1 week before the event.
- Chip Timing: Professional timing for all three disciplines.
Volunteers Needed: Not racing this year? We are always looking for enthusiastic marshals to keep our athletes safe. You’ll get a free lunch and our eternal gratitude!
